history

Ten alumnae sisters of Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority founded the Suburbs of Chicago Alumnae Association (S.O.C.A.A.) in the winter of 2003. The sorority’s National Board of Directors officially recognized S.O.C.A.A. on February 28, 2004.

The purpose of the Suburbs of Chicago Alumnae Association of Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority, Inc. is rooted in the promotion of our five principles of Academics, Community Service, Cultural Awareness, Morals and Ethics, and Social Interaction beyond the scope of our college careers. As undergraduates, Sigma Lambda Gamma provided the founding sisters with the opportunity to form close friendships and instilled a sense of leadership.

The members of S.O.C.A.A. want to be able to transcend their collegiate experiences and consolidate their strengths in order to serve as a vessel for the continued fellowship and mentorship of Alumnae, Sigma Lambda Gamma active members and the outside community.
